Swaledale Festival

28th May to 11th June 2022

An event of music, arts and walking in the Yorkshire Dales.

The event hosts international and national artists and musicians, that perform at several venues across Wensleydale, Swaledale and Arkengarthdale.

Ard Rock Enduro

29th to 30th July 2022

Ard Rock is the UK's number one mountain bike festival. The event is held in Fremington, just outside of Reeth. It is a weekend of challenging off road track races, live music and entertainment.

Wensleydale Show

27th August 2022

A traditional agricultural show located in the Wensleydale market town of Leyburn, only 8 miles from Reeth. Livestock shows and competitions, as well as live demonstrations and many local trade stands, make this a great day out for all.

29th August 2022

An annual agricultural show set in the beautiful Swaledale countryside, suitable for all the family. With entertainment, shows, demonstrations and local produce stands, this is a day not to be missed.

Muker Show

7th September 2022

A small agricultural and horticultural show held in the tranquil Swaledale village of Muker. 

Livestock competitions, a stone walling demonstration, fell races, exhibits and processions from the local Band are just some of the entertainments this show has to offer.

Simulated Game Shooting

If you are interested in simulated game shooting using clay targets, please speak to our team who will be happy to set up a session for you with a local partner. We can arrange bespoke tuition, VIP Days, corporate entertainment, large and small group of individuals, and both experienced and inexperienced shooters.

Before you visit

Book Direct & Save

Check-in time is between 2.00pm and 10.00pm but earlier or later check-in times may be available by prior arrangement.

On the day of departure, please vacate your room before 11.00am so that we can prepare the room for our next guests. Late check-out may be available by prior arrangement.

The availability shown online is live and always up to date. If you cannot find the date you are after, please email so we can add you to our waiting list.

At the time of booking, we will take your debit/credit card details and authorisation to the use of this card for any sums that fall due. For non-refundable reservations, we will take full payment at the time of booking.

Your booking will not be confirmed until card details and the necessary authorisation / payment / deposit have been provided. Any balance owing on your account must be paid on or before the morning of your departure.

We accept payment by cash, Visa Debit / Delta, Visa Credit, Maestro / Switch, Mastercard. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express. Your card details will be retained and stored securely and will be used in the event of cancellation, damage or breakages.

Breakfast times can be flexible by prior arrangement. Please ask the team.

Unless we are running a special deal and it is stated within the terms, all of our rates are on a room only basis. Breakfast will be charged separately as taken.

For individual reservations: If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

For Group reservations (5 rooms or more): A non-refundable 50% deposit will be taken at the time of booking. If a group reservation is cancelled within 28 days of stay date 100% charges apply and bookings cannot be changed to alternative dates. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

If you have booked a non-refundable rate: Full payment will be taken at the time of making the booking, or shortly afterwards. This payment is non-refundable or transferable in the event of amendment or cancellation.

Wheelchair access is available. The Eskeleth room can be easily configured to suit accessibility needs if required. Please contact us ahead of your stay so that we can make the necessary arrangements:

Children are welcome. We provide Zbeds by prior arrangement for children 12 years and under, at £45 per child per night. Please note that due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate Zbeds in our classic rooms (Thwaite, Keld & Grinton). Unfortunately, we do not provide cots. If you are travelling with a baby, please bring your own travel cot and advise us beforehand.

Our Muker and Harkerside rooms can be interconnected to accommodate visiting families. We can also offer twin-bedded, ground floor and access friendly rooms.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at The Burgoyne. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per room and a surcharge of £15 per dog per night applies. Dogs are allowed in all rooms except for the restaurant and kitchen. They must not be left unattended in guest bedrooms. In the event of damage or breakage caused by visiting dogs, we reserve the right to charge for any additional cleaning and/or items damaged or broken. The full room rate will be charged should we be unable to re-let it due to damage caused.

Free car parking is available in our private car park at the rear of the building.

There is an electric car charging point. A usage charge will be added to your bill. Please ask the team for details.

All cars and belongings are left entirely at the owner’s risk and The Burgoyne is not liable for any damage caused.

For the comfort of all our guests, smoking is not allowed anywhere inside The Burgoyne, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. Guests are however permitted to smoke in the outside areas.

We reserve the right to charge the full room rate should we be unable to re-let the room as a consequence of smoking in the room.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, in the event of Government restrictions which enforce a closure of The Burgoyne or prevent you being able to travel, we will transfer your booking and deposit to new dates. If this proves to be impossible, then we will refund your deposit.
