One of our Luxury Rooms, Ivelet is a spacious, stylish room with amazing views over Reeth village green and the moors of Grinton and Harkerside. Situated on the second floor on the west side of the building, this room was part of the first extension built in 1875.

Ivelet is beautifully decorated and boasts a stunning en-suite bathroom with a separate shower and freestanding bathtub perfectly positioned for you to take in the spectacular views whilst relaxing into a bubble bath.

Marrick is beautifully designed Luxury Room with elegance and original features including high ceiling and a picture sash window. It benefits from stunning views across the village green and hills of Swaledale.

Named after the local village of Marrick, this is one of  our most popular bedrooms. Dressing room, beautiful ensuite with a separate bathtub and shower provide you with the perfect haven after a day exploring the local area.

Muker

The one with the period fireplace 

If you appreciate beautiful design and period character, then this Luxury Room is the one for you. Named after a small tranquil village at the western end of Swaledale, the recently refurbished Muker, features a beautiful en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. After a day exploring the local area, you can relax on one of the cushioned window seats and take in in the stunning views.

Muker can be reconfigured as a twin room or connected to its neighbouring room Harkerside, to accommodate visiting families.

Eskeleth

The one with a private patio area 

Named after a hamlet in Arkengarthdale, Eskeleth is one of our Superior Plus Rooms. Situated on the ground floor, it features a stunning en-suite bathroom with separate bathtub and shower. 

Its French doors open out onto the beautiful front garden and the Swaledale hills beyond. The patio area is furnished with a table and chairs, providing an ideal setting for you to enjoy evening drinks looking out over the breath-taking views. 

The Eskeleth room can be easily adjusted to a twin room or to suit accessibility requirements. Please contact us ahead of your stay so that we can make the necessary preparations.

The light and airy one 

If you are looking for a room with a view then Redmire is the room for you. This Superior Plus room boasts some of the most stunning views of the local village leading to Grinton and Gunnerside Moors.

Redmire is situated on the first floor centrally positioned above the stairwell.  This room is part of the original building dating back to 1783. It has been tastefully decorated to a high standard and features a superb en-suite bathroom with a large shower and separate bath.

The one with the picture window 

Named after a small village in the heart of Swaledale, Gunnerside is one of our Superior Rooms. It has been tastefully decorated and has a warm and cosy feel. It features an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath. 

The highlight of the room is its large picture window which boasts stunning, cinematic views and a window seat. You can relax and watch life in the Yorkshire Dales from the comfort of your own room.

Named after the beautiful natural limestone scar it looks towards, Fremington is a Superior Room which features an en-suite bathroom with a separate bath and walk-in shower. 

Newly refurbished, this is a  charming room with lots of character. Tucked away in the rear of the house with views towards Fremington Edge, this room is peaceful and tranquil making it a popular choice with guests.

The one with the window seat 

Named after the local village of the same name, Thwaite is one of our Classic Rooms. It has recently had a full refurbishment and features a private bathroom located opposite the room. The bathroom is bright, fresh and airy and comprises of a bath with overhead shower.

Thwaite is situated on the first floor toward the west end of the building.  Its traditional window comes with a cushioned window seat looking out over the village green, perfect for watching the world go by.

Named after the most westerly village in Swaledale, Keld is a beautifully designed Classic Room. It is a front facing twin room with a large private bathroom situated opposite. The bathroom is bright and fresh and comprises of a bath and separate shower. This room is ideal for enjoying the stunning front facing views over Swaledale and the surrounding areas.

Keld has recently undergone a full refurbishment. The room features new soft furnishings and fittings, giving Keld a modern look, without sacrificing its traditional feel.

Named after the village that lies one mile east of Reeth, Grinton is one of our Classic Rooms with a private bathroom (walk in shower) located opposite the room. Grinton is situated on the second floor with stunning views over Reeth and the moors beyond.

Check-in time is between 2.00pm and 10.00pm but earlier or later check-in times may be available by prior arrangement.

On the day of departure, please vacate your room before 11.00am so that we can prepare the room for our next guests. Late check-out may be available by prior arrangement.

The availability shown online is live and always up to date. If you cannot find the date you are after, please email enquiries@theburgoyne.co.uk so we can add you to our waiting list.

At the time of booking, we will take your debit/credit card details and authorisation to the use of this card for any sums that fall due. For non-refundable reservations, we will take full payment at the time of booking.

Your booking will not be confirmed until card details and the necessary authorisation / payment / deposit have been provided. Any balance owing on your account must be paid on or before the morning of your departure.

We accept payment by cash, Visa Debit / Delta, Visa Credit, Maestro / Switch, Mastercard. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express. Your card details will be retained and stored securely and will be used in the event of cancellation, damage or breakages.

All our rates are Bed & Breakfast. Therefore your rate includes a continental buffet and a cooked breakfast choice from our breakfast menu.

For individual reservations: If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

For Group reservations (5 rooms or more): A non-refundable 50% deposit will be taken at the time of booking. If a group reservation is cancelled within 28 days of stay date 100% charges apply and bookings cannot be changed to alternative dates. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

If you have booked a non-refundable rate: Full payment will be taken at the time of making the booking, or shortly afterwards. This payment is non-refundable or transferable in the event of amendment or cancellation.

Wheelchair access is available. The Eskeleth room can be easily configured to suit accessibility needs if required. Please contact us ahead of your stay so that we can make the necessary arrangements: enquiries@theburgoyne.co.uk

Children are welcome. We provide Zbeds by prior arrangement for children 12 years and under, at £45 per child per night. Please note that due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate Zbeds in our classic rooms (Thwaite, Keld & Grinton). Unfortunately, we do not provide cots. If you are travelling with a baby, please bring your own travel cot and advise us beforehand.

Our Muker and Harkerside rooms can be interconnected to accommodate visiting families. We can also offer twin-bedded, ground floor and access friendly rooms.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at The Burgoyne. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per room and a surcharge of £15 per dog per night applies. Dogs are allowed in all rooms except for the restaurant and kitchen. They must not be left unattended in guest bedrooms. In the event of damage or breakage caused by visiting dogs, we reserve the right to charge for any additional cleaning and/or items damaged or broken. The full room rate will be charged should we be unable to re-let it due to damage caused.

Free car parking is available in our private car park at the rear of the building.

There is an electric car charging point. A usage charge will be added to your bill. Please ask the team for details.

All cars and belongings are left entirely at the owner’s risk and The Burgoyne is not liable for any damage caused.

For the comfort of all our guests, smoking is not allowed anywhere inside The Burgoyne, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. Guests are however permitted to smoke in the outside areas.

We reserve the right to charge the full room rate should we be unable to re-let the room as a consequence of smoking in the room.

We have taken every precaution to keep you and our team safe. A summary of our Covid-19 safety measures can be found here.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, in the event of Government restrictions which enforce a closure of The Burgoyne or prevent you being able to travel, we will transfer your booking and deposit to new dates. If this proves to be impossible, then we will refund your deposit.
