Dark Skies Festival

3rd to 21st February 2023

The Yorkshire Dales are now officially an international Dark Sky Reserve, with the largest dark sky area in the UK!

Dales Runner Fremington Fenzy

11th March 2023

The Frenzy is a shorter introduction to the DalesRunner race stable than the DR20, you still get spectacular ascents, interesting descents and views down Swaledale but you get to skip the biggest hill we have in the 20km route. This is a fully marked route featuring rarely visited twists and turns, views to take your breath away and a few sections of technical trail that will keep you on your toes.

Swaledale Farming Film and Photography Festival

14th June 2023

An evening film screening as part of the Swaledale Farming Film and Photography Festival. This free event will showcase a selection of farming films from in and around the Dales from the past and the present around the theme of ‘Farming Through the Seasons’ and is run by the Tees-Swale: Naturally Connected Programme.

Ingleton 1940's Festival

30th June to 2nd July 2023

A 1940s event is set in the heart of Ingleton with the impressive backdrop of Ingleborough and the village’s historic viaduct. Walk through the village to see history come alive at our re-enactors camp, admire the vintage vehicles on display in the streets, join in with old fashioned fete games and play with traditional toys, shop for antiques and vintage accessories, you can even get a 1940’s hair do! Check out our amazing street performers and stop to listen to an array of music from the era by our wonderful entertainers, or join in and have a dance, we can even show you how at our dance lessons! Don’t forget to keep your eyes peeled and ears open for our parades, you may catch a glimpse of Churchill or the young Princess Elizabeth.

Dales Runner Swinner Swagger

8th July 2023

Starting from the meadows north of the village of Muker, the course follows the valley known as Hartlakes north to Kisdon Force near the village of Keld. Here you cross the river by foot bridge, take a right and pass by Crackpot Hall before climbing Swinner Gill to the a water station. A track takes you gently down Gunnerside Gill all the way to the village of Ivelet. Here the course joins the Pennine Way, along the banks of the River Swale and through the meadows before finishing near the Rampsholme footbridge.

At the time of booking, we will take your debit/credit card details and authorisation to the use of this card for any sums that fall due. For non-refundable reservations, we will take full payment at the time of booking.

Your booking will not be confirmed until card details and the necessary authorisation / payment / deposit have been provided. Any balance owing on your account must be paid on or before the morning of your departure.

We accept payment by cash, Visa Debit / Delta, Visa Credit, Maestro / Switch, Mastercard. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express. Your card details will be retained and stored securely and will be used in the event of cancellation, damage or breakages.

All our rates are Bed & Breakfast. Therefore your rate includes a continental buffet and a cooked breakfast choice from our breakfast menu.

For individual reservations: If a booking is cancelled less than 7 days before arrival, then a charge equal to the full booking amount will be made. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

For Group reservations (5 rooms or more): A non-refundable 50% deposit will be taken at the time of booking. If a group reservation is cancelled within 28 days of stay date 100% charges apply and bookings cannot be changed to alternative dates. In the event of a no show or booking reduction (after arrival date) the full cost of the booking is charged.

If you have booked a non-refundable rate: Full payment will be taken at the time of making the booking, or shortly afterwards. This payment is non-refundable or transferable in the event of amendment or cancellation.

Wheelchair access is available. The Eskeleth room can be easily configured to suit accessibility needs if required. Please contact us ahead of your stay so that we can make the necessary arrangements: enquiries@theburgoyne.co.uk

Children are welcome. We provide Zbeds by prior arrangement for children 12 years and under, at £45 per child per night. Please note that due to space limitations, we are unable to accommodate Zbeds in our classic rooms (Thwaite, Keld & Grinton). Unfortunately, we do not provide cots. If you are travelling with a baby, please bring your own travel cot and advise us beforehand.

Our Muker and Harkerside rooms can be interconnected to accommodate visiting families. We can also offer twin-bedded, ground floor and access friendly rooms.

Well behaved dogs are welcome at The Burgoyne. We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per room and a surcharge of £15 per dog per night applies. Dogs are allowed in all rooms except for the restaurant and kitchen. They must not be left unattended in guest bedrooms. In the event of damage or breakage caused by visiting dogs, we reserve the right to charge for any additional cleaning and/or items damaged or broken. The full room rate will be charged should we be unable to re-let it due to damage caused.

Free car parking is available in our private car park at the rear of the building.

There is an electric car charging point. A usage charge will be added to your bill. Please ask the team for details.

All cars and belongings are left entirely at the owner’s risk and The Burgoyne is not liable for any damage caused.

For the comfort of all our guests, smoking is not allowed anywhere inside The Burgoyne, this includes the use of e-cigarettes. Guests are however permitted to smoke in the outside areas.

We reserve the right to charge the full room rate should we be unable to re-let the room as a consequence of smoking in the room.

We have taken every precaution to keep you and our team safe. A summary of our Covid-19 safety measures can be found here.

During the Coronavirus pandemic, in the event of Government restrictions which enforce a closure of The Burgoyne or prevent you being able to travel, we will transfer your booking and deposit to new dates. If this proves to be impossible, then we will refund your deposit.
